Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro

Amazfit’s next performance-oriented smartwatch might have just made another subtle appearance — this time on the wrist of a professional athlete.

In a recent social media video, long-distance runner Amanal Petros, who just set a German record at the Berlin Half Marathon, is spotted wearing what looks like the unreleased Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro.

Although the watch isn’t directly named in the clip, the design and timing align closely with earlier leaks. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this device.

Earlier this year, the name “Cheetah2” was discovered hidden in app code after an update, indicating that Amazfit has been working on a successor to the original Cheetah Pro.

It’s still uncertain whether the final name will be Cheetah 2 Pro, Cheetah 2, or something a bit different — but the direction seems pretty clear.

A Familiar Look, With Subtle Changes

From what’s visible in the video, Amazfit isn’t straying too far from its current design language.

The watch seen on Petros’ wrist features a round face with a relatively large display, paired with a black silicone sports strap.

The overall look feels sporty and lightweight — very much in line with what you’d expect from a running-focused device.

There are, however, a few small details worth noting. The casing appears to be metal, similar to the recently launched Active 3 Premium, but the lugs have a more tapered shape with a cut-out design rather than the straight, more traditional style. It’s a subtle tweak, but one that could improve comfort and fit during long runs.

Interestingly, the same design showed up earlier in another clip featuring Canadian runner Grant Fisher, adding a bit more weight to the idea that this is indeed the upcoming model.

What We Know — and What We Don’t

At this point, Amazfit hasn’t officially confirmed the watch, so most of the details remain under wraps.

If it follows the path of the original Cheetah Pro, we can expect a strong focus on runners. The current model offers a 1.45-inch AMOLED display, dual-band GPS, offline maps, and a solid mix of health tracking features like heart rate and sleep monitoring. Battery life is another highlight, typically stretching up to two weeks depending on usage.

Whether the Cheetah 2 Pro builds on that with improved sensors, better GPS accuracy, or new training tools is still anyone’s guess.

A Launch Likely Isn’t Far Off

Taken on its own, a brief appearance in a social media video might not mean much. But paired with earlier code leaks and multiple athlete sightings, it paints a clearer picture: Amazfit is getting ready to refresh its Cheetah lineup.

For now, the company is keeping quiet — no launch date, no pricing, not even an official name. But if recent history is anything to go by, it probably won’t stay that way for long.
